WisdomTree is an exchange-traded fund (“ETF”) sponsor and asset manager using its own fundamentally weighted index methodology. WisdomTree also licenses its indexes to third parties for proprietary products and offers a platform to promote the use of WisdomTree ETFs in 401(k) plans. Approximately $9.5 billion in assets currently are managed by WisdomTree or are managed against WisdomTree Indexes. WisdomTree is the marketing name for WisdomTree Investments, Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiaries WisdomTree Asset Management, Inc. and WisdomTree Retirement Services, Inc.

WisdomTree Asset Management, Inc. is a registered investment advisor and is the investment advisor to the WisdomTree Trust and the WisdomTree ETFs. The WisdomTree Trust is a registered open-end investment company. Each WisdomTree ETF is a series of the WisdomTree Trust. WisdomTree Retirement Services, Inc. supports the use of the WisdomTree ETFs in retirement plans by financial professionals.

Buyer Details

Flexpoint Ford, LLC is a private equity investment firm with $1 billion under management specializing in financial services and healthcare. Flexpoint seeks to build relationships with executives and companies who look for Flexpoint to be a value-added partner. Flexpoint aims to invest $10 to $100 million of equity in each opportunity.

Flexpoint's principals are among the most experienced investors in the U.S. in these two large sectors of the economy. Flexpoint's experience allows the Company to help build and add value to its portfolio companies through strategy development, operational guidance, sharing of best practices and accessing key industry relationships. In addition, Flexpoint assists its portfolio companies with financing, acquisitions and other capital markets transactions.

Transaction Summary

AIG sold its full ownership interest in WisdomTree to Flexpoint Ford.  Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.  Flexpoint is now the third largest shareholder, with a 7% interest in WisdomTree.
